But content is also so much more! During dinner, Eric Schneider, CEO, Tag3 will discuss the value of content marketing in context of its heritage, current relevancy and his point of view on where the future will lie. March 11 – INFO Toronto: Bitcoin

partner-logoBitcoin is a new technology that will change the world we live in, similar to how the Internet and the automobile drastically changed society. While this technology has some properties similar to a currency (it’s a medium of exchange), a stock (its value fluctuates), and a payment processor (it allows settlement between multiple parties), it can’t be pigeon-holed into any of these categories because, like other disruptive technologies, it’s different from everything invented before it. Michael will explain what Bitcoin is in plain English and will explain why it’s useful to every one of us and how it will change the world we live in more drastically and more quickly than any other technology that came before it.

Speaker: Michael Perklin is a recognized expert in cryptocurrencies and cybersecurity whose firm conducts cybersecurity audits and consultations. Michael’s expertise has been called upon by law firms, telecoms, and most recently the Canadian Senate’s Banking Committee on digital currencies. Michael serves as a Director of the Bitcoin Alliance of Canada, President of Bitcoinsultants, and President of CryptoCurrency Certification Consortium (C4).

Miller Tavern, 3885 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON M4N 2P2

June 10, 2016 – PubPro 2016

You may be called a managing editor, a production editor, an editorial coordinator, a publications director, a project manager, an editor-in-chief, or one of any number of titles. If you do any of the following:

  • Work for an organization or for clients that create publications (including self-publishers)
  • Manage an editorial and production team of in-house staff and freelance professionals
  • Hire freelancers, including editors and possibly writers, designers, and indexers
  • Develop project schedules
  • Create or work to project budgets
  • Shepherd projects through the production process

. . . you’re invited to attend PubPro, the annual unconference for the professionals who do what you do.

Publishers often meet to discuss sales, marketing, and digital strategies, but very rarely do the people who actually make the publications happen get to gather and brain share. This event offers managing editors and production specialists the opportunity to meet others in their role and learn from one another.

We’re particularly excited about this year’s event, which will be offered immediately before the annual national Editors Canada conference. As a result, we’re expecting publishing pros from across the country (and beyond) to join us.

What: Unconference
Where: Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites, Vancouver, BC

We hope you’re as excited as we are to see, hear, and meet these two industry leaders in person in June. They will both be selling and signing copies of their books while they’re with us, so leave room in your suitcase for the trip home!
